In my opinion (which is not great) the chip Jo has says ...S C J...it could be an “I” , but I haven’t seen any of the Sporting Club International “ I” letter curve and wrap or intertwine with the other 2 letters. I could be totally wrong...just an observation.

I am NOT saying that his piece is from the Societe’ Civile de Jullouville....just something to look into. IMight try and find their monogram to see if it resembles or matches. Old pictures, postcards...possibly an old newspaper ad? And better yet....possibly an old token.
