Pam, as I remember, the phone book was about a half-inch thick. But - it had smaller pages that a standard directory, more like a large paperback book. And it included listings from Etna (the highway to Etna was just about always closed due to snow, landslides, floods or repaving efforts), Happy Camp (yaaayyy! ) and maybe Forks of Salmon (tastier than Forks of Corn-Meal-Mush). Whatever small places the lines to Betsy would reach.
