I've noticed in several of my auction items, eBay is now automatically re-listing them (up to 8 times). I do NOT choose this option when listing - somehow it just happens, and later I note the box for such service is checked off.

Also, some of my items are shown "List in Gallery" which carries an extra charge; again, I did not choose or want this more expensive option.

So far the only way I know to avoid this is to enter the "revise my item" option and review all my recent listings to remove these unwanted options. If, indeed, they stay off.

I'm a stockholder. When eBay next sends me their happy annual stockholders' report and asks for my proxy vote to re-elect Mr. Brin, et al., I may very well pull a Harry S. Truman on them and "give 'em hell." (On the other hand, should anyone think of it, yes, I make something like $0.00000000001 every time eBay pulls these extra-charging stunts.)
