I recently acquired this RPC of Gardnerville Nev. and realized that the Corner Hotel it showed
was the forerunner of the Golden Bubble Casino. If you look closely you can see all the similarities
in the two buildings. I'm guessing the photo dates to sometime in the thirties. The Golden Bubble
opened in 1945. I remember patronizing the place in the late 60s. The 21 game offered several
bonuses such as 6-7-8 of spades (I think) paying some sort of bonus. They had a buffet and a
$5000 limit Keno game. Neat place.
The last card shows the Joyland Bar (barely readable sign) which was just down the street.
It was a plain looking place with a small bar and one 21 game with an etching of an unclad
maiden hanging over it. I thought the chips were pretty drab with just JB on them.
