You are not alone. In Belgium same situation for many years.
Every chip I send I must think of the best way to ship. But I no longer bother to go to a different post office.
When I enter the postoffice manager allready becomes nervous.
For example:
shipping to USA letter regular mail 0-50 gr 1 stamp letter regular mail 0-100 gr 3 stamps??? Where did the postoffice learned to calculate???
So sometimes I make two different letters to save a stamp. And I won't start explaining track and trace.

I have letters arriving from the USA with chips for around 1,5$-2,5$, it takes around two weeks.
