When I was on the club board we tried advertising for the convention and in my opinion most of it was wasted money. Yes the local ads in Las Vegas magazines/papers did bring in some locals which makes the dealers happy. But the out of state ads produced no results. Ads just to get your name out there can be a good thing but at several hundred to several thousand dollars each they just are not cost effective for us. A better way to get our name out there would be to concentrate on press release type reports. They are free and you never know who will pick them up.
