I have been going to Tunica since 1994 and over the years there have been at least 8 poker rooms there. A few were just electronic tables but today there are just two rooms left - Hollywood and Horseshoe. The Horseshoe room was pretty busy yesterday afternoon - about 8 tables going. The Hollywood room opened at noon but the first game did not start until 7:30 PM. The rumor is that the poker room may close since this lack of business keeps getting worse. They never recovered from the flood in 2011 when a lot of players left for Southland park in Memphis and never returned. Except for weekends this is true for most casinos here in Tunica. The area is just dead. I am staying at Fitzgeralds and I don't think there were 20 cars in the lot overnight. Last night I wanted to play something but had a very hard time The one BJ table at Fitz had no players (I don't like to play alone since it goes too fast) so I went to Horseshoe for the 4/8 limit game but they said that it had just broken up so I went to Hollywood and waited for an hour for the poker game to get going. The dealer at Hollywood hinted that the room may close but I hope it stays open since it is the only 3/6 game in town now.
