Interesting. Just a couple of thoughts .... First, wasn't there an Apache Hotel downtown, and this "rename" is going back to the past? Second, as someone who teaches at EMU, it needs to be mentioned that the mascot was changed before other schools changed their mascots. There is a history of the effects of certain mascot names that I won't get into here, but it is a different issue. My biggest beef? I would have preferred EMU change to the Emu's vs Eagles.
