EMU had to change its nickname from The Hurons to The Eagles. "Despite much controversy, support of the Huron tribes in Oklahoma and Quebec, and anger among its alumni, EMU changed the logo after the Michigan Department of Civil Rights issued a report suggesting all schools drop such logos."
So, yeah, someone will be offended if a hotel is named Apache. If the rooms are dirty, they'll say it promotes an unclean stereotype of Native Americans. If the rooms are too clean, they'll say it promotes an image of Native Americans that does not give due respect the the hardships they have endured. If it has a bar, they'll say it promoted alcoholism in the Native American community. If it omits a bar, they'll say it portrays Native Americans as weak and unable to control themselves.
