These are the chips in their original ~~~


~~~ state of preservation... and, unlike the clay composition we know of, these inlays are embossed/textured on their reverse as well. Probably so to help prevent lifting (?).

At first, after my find; these were suggested by some as being from NOLA because they thought the monogram was an "O" and when that failed some suggested that maybe Cuba when I explained the CC was interlaced, back-to-back... That Idea was tossed real fast after I saw that attempt... 😀

Yes. That's the only other one I know of.

Perhaps. Could have been for structural purposes.
