Re: NCR
In Response To: NCR ()

There is a reason it used to be called Generous Motors.

This whole story sounds familiar. When I was Director of Engineering at Lear Seating at a plant in TN they decided to spend $500,000 hiring a consulting firm to make recommendations on how to improve the plants performance. The end result was a 2 inch thick manual that was all pretty much pre-printed BS with the main recommendation (which actually makes sense) of having the plant laid out to input raw materials on one end and output finished products at the other (DUH!). The year I was there we took a money losing plant and not only met our goal of making $6 million but spent $600,000 at years end on capital improvement projects and still made $12 million in profit.
