My TV is a long way away from my wireless router so the signal is pretty feeble and has a hard time handling video like Netflix and Amazon Prime. I only have a 1080P TV. To solve the problem I ran cat 6 cables (about 125-150 feet worth) directly from the router to the TV. With my 100MB internet service I should have no problems but most times the picture is very poor (probably 720 or worse instead of the 1080P it should be). I plugged the cat 6 cable into my laptop and checked the internet speed and it stays around 15 MB. According to what I have read anything over 4 MB should be good enough for most video. I also occasionally get messages from Prime saying my speed is too slow and do I want to continue looking at the video. Any ideas why the picture is so bad if the speed at the end of the cable is 15MB? Is the cable too long? Is there any type of amplifier I could use? Any good ideas on how to fix this problem?
