Around 10 years ago, maybe 9, Fred DeKeyser offered me some Caribbean chips he was selling off. Among them was a $5 chip from a casino in the Dominican Republic (I saved the old scan):
It immediately became a favorite of mine. I love the unusual brown with teal colors, the large key mold and the interesting design on the inlay. It was also in fantastic condition. I showed it off quite a bit, and it caught the eye of one of, and maybe the biggest Dominican collectors. He told me he didn't have it, needed it for a collection and made me a generous offer despite my telling him how much I paid for it (which was very reasonable). I decided he should have it since it was a focus of his collection and just a smaller part of mine. So, all this time later and another one shows up on eBay. I get it for a very low price, and it's back in my collection:
Yeah, also in great condition!
I love it when things work out like this.
Not too long ago, I picked up a couple of other chips from this series in a larger chip lot:
Loving this hobby!
