I got a bit of satisfaction today. I offered a $850 for some chips. He refused and sold them on eBay for $550. I didn’t even bid as I knew who was bidding.

This incident reminded me of my all time “pigs get nothing” incident. A guy emailed me a picture of a rack of crest and seals (bison head chips). I contacted a deep pockets collector who told me to offer him $10k. At that point the seller thought they were worth a fortune and decided to keep them. This guy knew nothing about chips. At this point I would offer $500 - maybe.
