I don't think you can hold a copyright on a picture of someone else's work.

If I have a Sahara plaque, and that plaque has Sahara's copyrighted logo or text logo on it, and then I take a picture of that plaque, I have no rights to the picture. Whoever owns the copyright to Sahara's logo/text etc has legal right to determine how it is used, no one else.

So me taking that picture, and adding a copyright symbol and my name next to it means nothing. People do it all the time, but again, it's meaningless.
