At our meetings, we have trading and selling of Casino Memorabilia which starts at 6 PM and resumes following the meeting. You are invited to both the meeting and trading sessions.
Early Bird Auction
At our meeting, the Early Bird Auction begins at 6:45 pm followed by our speaker and then the club meeting. You can see the list of items and scans in this message. In the event you are not able to make it in person, you are welcome to email me with your highest bid. Just include your CCGTCC or SNCCC membership number and which lot you want to bid on. Payment for winning bids is due at the end of the auction. If you are an absentee winner, you will receive an invoice. You may bring any items for future auctions with you. Any form of Casino Memorabilia is welcome. The Club takes a 20% seller’s fee unless you opt to donate all proceeds to the Club.
Speaker
This month’s speaker will be Mr. Ted Whiting, Vice President of Corporate Surveillance for MGM Resorts International. He has been employed in the Gaming industry since 1989. Early in his career he held various casino positions such as Dealer, Cage Cashier, and Poker Room Brush. From 1995 until 2009, Mr. Whiting worked in The Mirage Resort & Casino Surveillance Room and was promoted to Director of Surveillance in 2001. Starting in 2006, Ted worked on creating the casino surveillance system at the multi-billion-dollar Resort & Casino project known as City Center. Ted became the Director of Surveillance for City Center’s Aria Resort & Casino in 2009. In February 2015, he was promoted to his current position as Vice President of Corporate Surveillance at MGM Resorts International in which he oversees all Surveillance Rooms at 12 properties in Las Vegas, Maryland and Massachusetts.
During his career, Ted has written different computer programs that are in use in several Surveillance Rooms on the Las Vegas Strip. One of his programs called Baccarat Player Analysis is used to evaluate high action Baccarat play. His second foray into Surveillance software was to create a Surveillance database, a report writing program, which included a Card Counting and Basic Strategy tutorial.
Mr. Whiting has spoken as an industry expert at UNLV, University of Denver, Cornell University Alumni conference and John Hopkins Educator Conference as well as participating on panels and as a speaker at casino industry conventions such as Global Gaming Expo (G2E), the World Game Protection Conference (WGPC) and the International Security Conference West (ISC West). He has been featured on several TV programs on different networks including National Geographic Channel, Destination America, CNBC, The Today Show and local news. Mr. Whiting has been interviewed by print media as well, including Popular Mechanics and various Security and Surveillance industry magazines.
Raffle 50/50
There will be a 50/50 raffle for cash and/or prizes which is quite fun! This month’s auction to include a set of 6 grand opening Chips from the recently opened Hard Rock and Ocean Casino in Atlantic City. The Hard Rock and Ocean Casinos. These were donated by Jerry Vergatos with 100% of the proceeds going to the SNCCC. Starting bid on this item only will be $17.00. Proxy bids are welcome. If you are not yet a member or your membership has lapsed, I invite you to join the SNCCC. An annual membership is only $12.00 payable at the door. You are, of course, welcome as a guest to see what we’re all about and you can bring your friends as well!!!!!!!!!!
Our meetings are short, which gives you lots of time to socialize and gain knowledge about whatever interests you with casino memorabilia.
