Good point. I just added it up:
¶ Ace, 2, 3, 4, .. ..... 10, Jack, Queen, King -- all of one suit = 91.
¶ 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 .. .....+10 + 11 + 12 + 13 = 91.
¶ 91 x 4 suits = 364.
¶ 364 + joker = 365 days in year.

Why 1? An Ace is already one
Look at the face cards as having 11, 12, 13 spots.
