Re: NCR - An Interesting Sunday afternoon !!!!

We had about a 20" diameter branch fall in our yard two months ago. It did not hit anything so no insurance coverage at all. Fortunately the 17 acre farm next door just sold to a construction company and they were cleaning up the property to get it ready to rent out. I went over and asked if anyone would be interested in doing a little side job of removing my tree. They removed the huge 20" branch, cut down a dead 10" diameter tree, cleaned some dead wood on a tree near the house and cut branches covering a security light in the back yard. Total cost? $300 vbg We got very lucky in finding them. A few years ago my daughter had a tree fall on her fence and she got some estimates from a guy she knew and he quoted enough to remove the tree and fix the fence. And her insurance paid for it. I hope you checked with your insurance company to make sure your deductible really is more than the cost and it is not covered some way.

Removing trees have to be one of the most profitable jobs on earth except for foundation repairs ($3000 for 4 hours of manual labor!) Tree guys normally charge $100 per inch in diameter and they can probably remove that 25" tree limb in two or three hours.
