I got this in Switzerland about 3 weeks ago, Eric. It was handed to me when I bought a bottle of water. This is what I surmised: apparently they are manic about recycling there, imposiing a 2 franc deposit on a plastic bottle, over $2.00; understandably, retailers don’t want to be swamped with dozens of bottles that they never collected deposits on, so this retailer gives out a Jeton with every bottle, so he will only redeem the bottles he himself sold. I kept the Jeton, but left the bottle in a prominent place where the reatailer could find it and recycle it.
