Re: Weekend Finds - Long Beach Coin Show

Eric I went Saturday and didn't see much but did sell around $1,000 worth of my coins. Some Silver Proof sets and Canadian 2010 Olympic silver set and a Canadian penny set. I was asking people about chips and one dealer said some lady had a binder and was asking older higher prices for her chips but didn't see her, man I might have missed some good ones, oh well, maybe next time. I have a plan to attract more attention to myself next time as being a chipper, so i wont have to keep asking.
The show was cool with all the Olympic pin collectors there, my son even bought a pin. I also bought some pins to add the 2008 Beijing Silver Olympic 1-2-3 sets I brought to sell. I didn't sell them so just added to their interest with the pins. I have 3 boxes with 4 coins in each, which the Panda Coin dealer was selling at $500 a set. I would have taken $350 to $400 each for them. The Panda guy said since I didn't sell them to hold onto them till 2022 when the Summer Olympics are in China again and the interest for them will return and people will want to add the 2008 winter Olympic sets I have to them, good idea, so Ill hold onto them till then or bring them to the chip show also and see if there is any interest there. They are a real nice set and first Olympics in China and pretty character coins, Silver with some color on the Characters. The Chinese were buying them up but the market for them from the Chinese is slow right now, from what Ive heard at the show. So Ill keep trying to sell them till 2022 if they make it till then.
