When it rains it pours sad ...NCR

So Thursday we had to put Buffy down and Cindy is all torn up about it and cant even think straight. Friday afternoon we are taking a nap and I get up and find the back door open. Strange but maybe I just left it open after getting the mail earlier (not likely). So I check the downstairs just to make sure no one is in the house. No one there. When Cindy gets up she asks where her purse is at? She left it in the kitchen with her cell phone plugged in. No purse anywhere. Apparently someone one walked into the back door and just grabbed her purse. Maybe they heard us and had to make a fast exit but the purse is the only thing missing. But think about what that means. Not only is any money gone (only $40 in this case) but so are her credit and debit cards, drivers license, Social Security card (don't every carry one!), insurance card, cell phone, make up, checkbook, car and house keys. So that means 5 hours on the phone cancelling everything, getting a new drivers license and cell phone, changing all of the locks in the house and getting new car keys.

What a pain in the a$$. We have lived here over 10 years and have never had any problems. In fact the county sheriff who came over said this is only the second time he has been on our street since he started working there. I don't know what else you can do to prevent or minimize the results of this type of theft but just be careful so it does not happen to you. It is not the worst thing that can happen in life (by a long shot) but it really screws up a few days of your life.
