Not sure what all exactly took place in the auction.. or if I'm even using the correct term ("sham"), but it seemed strange that all bids vanished... There were notes concerning the blow-for-blow action explained to me, but I don't recall. Everything went down fine with the transaction between the seller and I. Delivery was fast and plaques were well packaged, though strange all bids were wiped away and hard to believe bidders retracted them since these were completely unknown* and I would assume rare...
There was a mention in an 1880's French article/book about these two denominations being used at the club.
