The seller referred to the chip as an R-8, which means it's a reference to James Campiglia's book. James' book is an asset to our hobby, but it was published in 2009 and hasn't been updated. As most of us know, the price market from 2009 has no resemblance to the price market in 2018.
This isn't the only seller who uses James' book to quote values, possibly so they can get better sales prices from unsuspecting bidders. One seller had listed, over time, about 1,000 of the Barney's brown $1 chips but still referred to them as "rare," because they were considered rare in 2009.
