Here's recent article on the property's sale. No specifics, but it sounds like new owners plan to work the existing structure somehow.

When Resorts World bought the former Eschelon project (where Stardust had been), they used the existing steel structure, etc. in large part, even though it had been exposed to the elements. I guess it depends on rust and structural integrity. With the "dry heat" of LV, it may preserve exposed steel longer than typical wetter climates.
