There were some posts a couple days ago about the Atlantic City Trump Plaza NCV chips.
I don't remember the years but some were used in Wednesday Night Black Jack Tournaments.
The first summer I played they were either free to enter or you needed to log 30 minutes between some hours like 4:00 - 7:00 the same night at any table or slot.
Either the 2nd or 3rd summer they started to require so many tier points during that same time before the tournament started.
This has to be at least 10 years ago, probably even longer so my memory on those details is muddy.
I do know they were using the $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000 and $5000 for the tournament.
The $5s were not given to the players but were in the rack, but no sign of the $1 and $2.50.
What I also noticed was some of the denominations were in both Satin and Linen finish.
Several were harvested during the tournament, but I still needed the $1 and $2.50.
Many years later I managed to buy a set from an AC Chip Collector so I could complete the set ($1 and $2.50 and the $25 was in the other finish).
This is the only use I know of, but as others mentioned, probably used in other tournaments.
Probably one of the nicest sets to come out of Atlantic City and my guess is, somewhat rare, but I'm not expert on that knowledge.
