Will you be sad if someone else buys it for that price?
We have a really nice collection of glass swizzle sticks from Las Vegas. Yesterday a glass swizzle stick from the Esquire Club ended. The opening bid was $75, plus around $5 shipping. I don't like when an auction starts that high, I don't think we've paid that much for any of our glass swizzles, but it's one that we don't have, and I really wanted it. There were no bids on the auction a minute before it went off. I sniped $111.11 with about 7 seconds left...even though that was really more than I wanted to pay. Another sniper won the swizzle for around $334!!!!!
I would have been sad if I'd bid the minimum of $75, and someone else got it for less than $100. I'm o.k. with someone else getting it for $334...!! No way I'd have even considered paying that much for it.
I decided that $111.11 (plus shipping) was the absolute maximum I would pay...if someone else wanted it more than that, they could have it. You have to decide what your absolute maximum is, where you won't have regrets about losing it.
I hope you get it, sooner or later, for a price that you like!
This ashtray is one of very few items that we've ever sold from our collection...we received an offer that we couldn't refuse . Sometimes I still regret selling it...
