Picked this one up yesterday at the Southend Rendezvous - they use 1p x 100 super odds chips (so that they are worth £1 in play but only 1p if you want to cash it in).

I have seen the 5p x 100 super odds chips before as I have been offered them as part of a promo myself, but never the 1p chip. A lady sat down next to me with 4 of them and was about to put them into play. I don't usually do anything about something like this, but I hadn't seen the chips and I wanted them and knew that once taken in play they are put to one side to be sent back to the cashier so I asked if I could swap them for regular chips and admitted (when asked why) that I collected them. I don't care if she gave me a strange look as I got the chips - remember that collecting chips here is very unusual! The dealer even said that I couldn't cash them, which was fine as I thought he was going to stop me taking them!

But I now have a neat chip for my collection and if anyone wants one of these unique denomination 1p UK chips, then check out me Ebay later today as a spare is heading that way
