and how to redeem. Your local bank should cash or exchange it for you, if not, you have to submit a written claim and send to the Bureau of Printing & Engraving in Washington DC. Or you can deliver the bill in person to them (our Federal government is sooo funny.)

I have done this before, they will eventually mail you back a check (looks like a tax refund check). Takes 6 to 36 months. (Ha, ha) Be advised that if you submit a claim, you will be asked just HOW the banknote got mutilated (I said they were funny, right?).
You photo shows well over 1/2 of the banknote, with a complete serial number and part of the other. Good! If you ever find a shred of a banknote without even an entire serial number . . . you are out of luck.
PS: The BEP asks that you do NOT try to "repair" torn bills by putting Scotch Tape on them. This greatly messes up something, somewhere, somehow.
