When the Pioneer Club LV "50th Anniversary" chips were issued, they were sold as numbered 6-piece sets: 25c / 50c / $1 / $5 / $25 / $100. So each set was $131.75 face value. There were 200 matched / numbered sets, if I recall correctly.
The Pioneer was closing at that time, so I don't think there was much opportunity to cash in the larger denominations. Over time, some sets were broken up, but the small denominations were always in higher demand, with only 200 of each made (numbered). I see on MOGH / Chip Guide that the lower denominations had some unnumbered pieces made too. I don't know the story on those. But the 200 sets (2 set limit per person) was exhausted in a few hours. The sale occurred during the annual chip convention, so that helped with the demand.
Maybe that's more than you wanted to know!!!
