This is importanter than you think! Fire Mountain
In Response To: New Hard Rock Casino in CA ()

Casino was being built by the Enterprise Rancheria Tribe, as the description "near the Toyota Amphitheatre" gives it away. It's on 40 Mile Road southeast of Marysville. The tribe was to build just a small casino (349 slots and I think maybe 5-10 tables), and construction was stalled due to lawsuits. Not the least of which was from Thunder Valley whose tribe didn't appreciate the humor in naming a casino up the street from them "Fire Mountain." Sounds like Hard Rock has jumped in to expand the casino plans with some mega-money and expertise.

The new site, whether Hard Rock or Fire Mountain, plans to compete with the existing tribal casino/resorts of the Sacramento area, including Feather Falls, Gold Country, Red Hawk, Jackson, Colusa, Thunder Valley, and the local cardrooms - of which Casino Marysville stands to lose the most local business. Hard Rock may also have eyes on concert performances at the 'Ota Ampha'.

Shades of Penn National (Hollywood Casino) financing the Jamul Tribe down San Diego way, which of course came unravelled a few months ago.
