Hey "Cousin Reggie,"
In all the years I've harvested chips, I've never played a card game in a casino! That changed tonight, and here's the story:
An Indian casino in the San Diego area (we won't name) offered a couple of $5 No-Cash-Value chips so I went down there and got a voucher for them in the usual manner, at the player's club counter. But, when I went to the Pit Boss to redeem the voucher as I've done on past occasions, he took the voucher and said I must be seated at a table, playing, before he would give me the chips. Maybe he recognized me from past visits. Or was just a grouchy Pit Boss. Trapped. I sat at the only Blackjack game in his area. I then realized it had a $15 minimum, rather than a $5. Threw down a $20 and got four regular $5 chips. Pit Boss came over with the 2 NCV ones, dealer at first handed them to the player next to me, then realized his error and gave them to me. I put them in my pocket, and bet with 3 of the house chips. Dealer scowled and tossed me two cards. Two Kings. He tried to beat me, got only piddling cards and came up with 18. I heard him hiss, "Damn!" and he was obliged to pay me $15. Dealer asked why I didn't bet with the two NCV chips, I said I figured they were "lucky chips." I took my $35 in chips off the table, said "See ya," and left. Dealer was still muttering under his breath and the Pit Boss was shooting daggers at me with his eyes.

IN 2006 NANCY AND I EMBARKED UPON A MONTH LONG TRIP OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
AND THE STATE OF OREGON. THIS WAS SHORTLY AFTER WE HAD PURCHASED A 22’ RV TO TRAVEL IN. ONE OF OUR STOPS EARLY IN THE TREK WAS TWIN PINES CASINO.
THIS WAS LONG BEFORE THE TERRIBLE FIRES THEY HAD A FEW YEARS BACK, THE FIRES NEARLY BURNED THIS CASINO DOWN. NOT REALLY SURE HOW CLOSE IT DID COME.
WHEN WE PULLED IN TO THE PARKING LOT IT WAS FAIRLY EARLY, NOONISH; AND THERE WAS NOT MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE BESIDES ATTENDANTS, DEALERS AND FLOOR STAFF INSIDE THE CASINO. THIS WAS ABOUT WHEN THEY BROUGHT IN THEIR FIRST SNAPPER.
SO, THAT WAS THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS OF WHICH WAS QUITE EASY OBTAINING. THE NEXT THING ON OUR UNOFFICIAL LIST WAS THE 4 INSERT (WITH 4 DASHES ON THE EDGE OF THE CHIP) ONE DOLLAR CHIP, WHICH AS THE PIT MANAGER SAID WAS A DIMISHING SPECIES. BUT, SHE WAS BORED AND HELPED UP LOOK THROUGH ALL OF THE TABLES, AND AS I REMEMBER THEY HAD 8 OR 10 TABLES IN ONE CLUSTER. WE ENDED UP LEAVING WITH ABOUT 10 SNAPPERS, 10 OF THE 4 INSERT (TOUGHIES) $1 CHIPS AND 20 OF THE EASIER 4 INSERT CHIPS. YES, WE DID LEAVE A NICE TIP.

WE THEN PROCEEDED DOWN THE ROAD LOOKING FOR KONOCTI VISTA OR ROBINSON RANCHERIA WHICH EVER CAME UP FIRST. THIS WAS A VERY NICE HARVEST, TOO BAD ALL OF THEM DO NOT WORK OUT LIKE THIS…REGGIE
MANY YEARS AGO I STARTED MY POSTING, BY POSTING “A SET OF THE DAY” I THINK I HAD ABOUT 300-400 SETS ALL TOGETHER. THAT WAS A LOT OF FUN BACK THEN.
AND NOW, I WILL START HAVING A REGULAR SET OF THE DAY WITH MY OTHER FEATURES WHEN I DISPLAY A “PAGE OF THE DAY”.
