There was a nice piece in the Sacramento Bee today about the new Hard Rock Casino planned for the region. It will be located just south Marysville - about 30 miles north of Sacramento. Personally, I just don't see how they can make it at that location. The next town up the road is Oroville and they have two well established casinos already - Feather Falls & Gold Country. The biggest competitor will be Thunder Valley located about 20 miles south in Roseville - one of the most successful casinos in Northern California. The Marysville area itself is a bit of a depressed area. On the positive side they may be offering some nice comps to try to draw in the crowds.
