What a special day at the Nevada State Museum for the MoGH!!!
Yesterday, with the assistance of MoGH Board members Steve Palumbo, Ross Poppel, and myself, along with Club Hall of Fame member Carey Burke, my wife Pam Focazio, our son Casey Focazio-Follis and the Club’s most recent, Early-Bird Banquet Keynote Speaker, and Club member, and MoGH Gold level member, Ted Whiting, placed a refresh/enhanced display at the Nevada State Museum, Springs Preserve, here in Las Vegas.
The refresh/enhancement was to clear out one of the original display cases, filled with various Nevada-only, casino branded, ashtrays, matchbooks, and playing cards and replace them with cheating devices from Ted’s personal collection and from the lock-up rooms of the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s, Enforcement Division, Las Vegas, NV.
In a fairly unprecedented action, Nevada Gaming Control has placed on-loan, to the MoGH, through the assistance of Ted Whiting, for a period of 6-months, about 22 different “cheating” devices and aids, all of which were confiscated through past, law enforcement actions. As noted previously, this display is also augmented with several cheating devices from Ted Whiting’s personal collection, which he acquired over the years from various sales.
More information about this addition and the state of the Exhibit at the Nevada State Museum, along with pictures of today’s adventure, will be presented over the next day or so, as well as an article in the Club’s magazine, and a feature in the MoGH’s Newsletter.
My thanks to all.
The MoGH... always moving forward!
