Happy 4th of July to Everyone, and welcome back to the Page of the Day (POD). Today I have an explanation and introduction of the POD and the types of pages that will be rolled out over the year at the rate of at least one a week. There may be a few weeks I do not publish at all, traveling would be the main reason. Along with the intro to the POD I have some Odd Denominations for you to look at. BTW it took me two weeks to sort, put away and add to my collection after getting home from the Convention. It is getting harder every year to make the trip from Florida, next year's convention, as a famous American said "We'll See". Thanks for opening my post this Fourth of July. Reggie
2018 (THESE CHIPS ARE FOR SALE OR TRADE) PRICES CHANGED 7-1-18
I TRY TO MAKE THINGS EASIER FOR CHIPPERS TO UNDERSTAND MY PAGES, THROUGH ARTICLES OF INFORMATION. I TRY TO WRITE INTO MY POST INFORMATION ON COLLECTING, HARVESTING, CLEANING, SHIPPING, ETHICAL STANDARDS, TRADING AND TYPES OF CHIPS ETC.
ONCE IN A WHILE I WILL POST “NEW ACQUISTIONS” AND/OR A “PICK SIX”, THESE ARE JUST WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE. PICK SIX ARE 6 RELATED CHIPS.
SET OF THE DAY – WAS THE WAY I STARTED MY POSTING ABOUT 10-12 YEARS AGO.
RECENTLY I ADDED THE “POST CARD OF THE DAY” ONE OF MY PET REVOLVING COLLECTIONS.
ODD DENOMINATIONS ARE QUITE LARGE NOW AND ARE COMBINED IN ONE POD.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PAST INTEREST, TRADES AND PURCHASES, IT IS A FUN WILD
RIDE.
THIS POST WOULD BE A GOOD ONE TO SAVE FOR FUTURE EXPLANATIONS, ESPECIALLY FOR NEW COLLECTORS. IT LISTS ALL OF THE CATAGORIES OF THE PAGE OF THE DAY.

IT IS BY FAR THE MOST ECONOMICAL WAY TO GROW YOUR COLLECTION.
WHEN YOU TRAVEL, BUY SEVERAL CHIPS FROM CASINO’S YOU VISIT, INSTEAD OF ONE OR TWO. BE PARTICULAR WHEN YOU BUY THEM, GET THEM IN THE BEST POSSIBLE CONDITION.
BY DOING THIS YOU WILL BE IN A MORE ECONOMICAL POSTION TO TRADE FOR CHIPS YOU WANT IN YOUR COLLECTION.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PROPONENT OF TRADING. I AVERAGE 2 OR 3 TRADES EVERY WEEK.
THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF DISCUSSION ABOUT TRADING ON THE CHIPBOARD LATELY. HERE ARE PROBLEMS THAT MANY PEOPLE DO NOT LOOK AT WHILE TRYING TO REASON WHY NO ONE WANTS TO TRADE WITH THEM.
1) WHEN THEY PUT UP IMAGES OF THEIR TRADERS THEY ARE FILTHY DIRTY AND/OR TOTALLY THRASHED.
2) WHEN VISITING A CASINO AND PURCHASING ONLY ONE OR TWO CHIPS YOU ARE NOT INCREASING YOUR TRADE INVENTORY, AND BY NOT INCREASING YOUR TRADE INVENTORY YOU ARE NOT INCREASING YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO TRADE.
3) TRYING TO INITIATE TRADES ONCE EVERY MONTH OR TWO, DOES NOT SERVE YOU WELL EITHER. YOU NEED TO ADVERTISE SO PEOPLE REMEMBER YOU.
4) KEEP LETTING YOUR CHIPPER FRIENDS KNOW THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TRADING.
5) BUILD A NETWORK OF FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES THAT WILL HELP YOU OUT WHEN YOU NEED A CHIP FROM A CERTAIN CASINO.
6) THESE ARE SOME IDEAS THAT I THINK WILL HELP, THAT IS IF YOU WANT TO GROW YOUR COLLECTION…REGGIE

In this case, I knew from fellow collector Jim Colbert that the new casino chips were on the tables, so that part was a no-brainer. All I had to do was drive down there and figure out how to get a decent quantity. A spare Memorial Day holiday, a tank full of gas . . . and I was on my way.
When I got to the newly-converted Jamul Casino (formerly Hollywood Casino San Diego), I stopped at a blackjack table and bought a few pink snappers. Easy. But for the dollar and five dollar chips . . . the craps table looked easier. I wander over, and was about to throw down $120, when the Pit Boss (or Gaming Manager) slid a small sign toward me: "Table Closed This Side." Huh?? How can half a craps table be closed? Aren't there proposition bets that would be cut out of the game?
I move to the busy side of the table and put down my money, and get a stack of $5 chips. Ask the dealer for some $1 chips instead of four extra fives. Okay, he hands them over. I start putting the chips into my pockets. So far, so good . . .
The Gaming Manager suddenly sprints around the table and comes up to me and says: "Excuse me, sir, I saw you putting those chips into your pockets. You're not allowed to do that."
Uh-oh . . . busted! Now what??? Had to think quick . . .
"Sorry," I replied, "I didn't know. Ummm, would you like them back?"
He glared at me, knowing as I did that he lacked the ability to refund my $120. Finally he muttered, "It's OK this time. Don't come back and do that again. You can buy chips at Guest Services."
This made no sense, but I ambled over to Guest Service (a/k/a The Cage and Player's Club rolled into one). I asked for a few chips. Sure enough, the cashier took my money and handed them over. That almost never works in a California Indian casino.
Anyhow, this casino run ended with me walking out with my trousers sagging with enough chips. Oh, to get to the elevator, I had to walk past the Gaming Manager again. But this time he paid me no attention, seemingly engrossed in running his Half Craps Game.

WHEN I WAS STILL LIVING IN SAN DIEGO WE TOOK AN OVERNIGHT TRIP UP TO SANTA
BARBRA. IT WAS A WELCOME TRIP, OVER THE WEEKEND. MY MAIN OBJECTIVE WAS THE
PLAYERS CLUB IN VENTURA. WE DROVE MOST OF THE WAY FROM SAN DIEGO ALONG THE
COASTAL HIGHWAY, NOT HAVING ANY TIME COMMITMENTS.
WE FOUND A NICE RESTAURANT, AND HAD A NICE DINNER EVERYTHING WAS GOING
ALONG JUST FINE. IT WAS STARTING TO GET LATE, WE HAD A GPS
ADDRESS FINDER, AND TYPED IN THE PLAYERS CLUB. AFTER ABOUT A HALF HOUR OF
LOOKING AROUND WE FOUND IT.
AT LEAST, WE THOUGHT WE FOUND IT. THERE WAS A TINY PARKING LOT THAT HELD
ABOUT A DOZEN CARS, NO STREET LIGHTS AND I WAS NOT ABOUT TO LEAVE NANCY
SITTING ALONE IN THE CAR IN THE “HOOD”. SO, I GOT AS CLOSE TO THEIR FRONT
DOOR AS I COULD. AND GRABBED HER BY ARM AND HELPED HER UP THE STEPS AND INTO
THE DEN OF INIQUITY KNOWN AS THE PLAYERS CLUB. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY, IN THIS
HARVEST; GETTING THERE WAS ONLY HALF THE PROBLEM.
WE WERE GREETED BY THE POKER ROOM MANAGER (OR OWNER?) ASKING WHAT WE
WANTED. WE HAD ALREADY AGREED THAT WE WERE IN OVER OUR HEAD, AND WAS
GOING TO TRY TO GET IN AND OUT ASAP. I STATED MY BUSINESS AND MY REQUESTS,
AND HE LOOKED AT ME WITH MINOR CURIOSITY OR ANNYOYANCE, BUT APPARANTLY
HE WAS “THE MAN” AND DID GIVE ME THE CHIPS I REQUESTED. AS I LOOKED AROUND
THE ROOM OF ABOUT 6 TABLES THERE MUST HAVE BEEN 10 OR 12 SHARKS WITH FINS,
AND THE REST SPOKE SPANISH. IT WAS A VERY TOUGH LOOKING CROWD.
I STUFFED THE CHIPS IN MY CARGO PANTS, MY HARVESTING OUT FIT, AND WE GOT THE
HECK OUT OF DODGE AS SOON AS WE COULD. I UNDERSTAND THEY HAVE SOME VERY
NICE DIGS NOW, THEY HAVE A NEW MODERN ROOM. I DID NOT GET ENOUGH CHIPS AT
THIS TIME…REGGIE http://www.themogh.org/cg_chip2.php?id=CABAGW

I AM REDUCING PRICES ON MOST OF THESE SETS, SOME WILL BE FACE VALUE, SO IF YOU SEE SOMETHING YOU LIKE AND WANT, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE IN SENDING ME AN EMAIL, PUTTING A SOLD SIGN ON THE CB IS NOT THE WAY TO GUARANTEE YOUR PURCHASE OR TRADE.
