I stopped in to Pop's Oasis a number of times on the drive to/from LV-Los Angeles. Same exit as the Gold Strike, I think, but Pop's pre-dated the Gold Strike. Pretty active as a place to buy gas & snacks.

Inside, there was 1 short craps table (the 6 foot variety, not the long 10-12 foot full size tables) that could be operated by just one dealer. Also, a couple of BJ tables, plus some slots. In the back was a snack bar.

I never spent more than 20 minutes in the place at one time. Just hit & run. I did harvest a few rack chips for my own collection.

The somber part of the stop is that just up the hill from Pop's was a medium-security Nevada state prison. At night, the prison lights were glaring in the otherwise dark desert. Felt kind of sad.
