I was just researching something else in a Numismatic publication here in Ontario when i came across an article on this token.
I right away went to the Chip Guide and found the token posted in the Slot Tokens category. After reading the article on it and being a Chip Guide administrator, I was able to go and make the necessary corrections to the original item on the Chip Guide. It was released as a Municipal Trade Token by the city and not as token used in the machines.
So of course, as a collector of all Canadian Casino related items, and seeing that the token was struck in a few different types of medals including a pure silver one of which only a mere 125 were struck, I am on the hunt for all the medal versions of this token. If you know of any of these, please contact me so that I can work on putting a complete set together.
These are the compositions i would be looking for with mintage in brackets:
33mm blanks
Nickel bonded steel (45,000),
gold plated NBS (333),
antiqued silver plated NBS(333),
antiqued copper platedNBS (333),
Pure silver (125)
