In fact, the first tray I looked at on the vendor's table . . . had been in the sun for hours and when I picked up some medallion to look at it . . . OWWWWWW! Don't think it does his collectibles any good and certainly doesn't do my fingers any good. I moved to the second, shadier tray where I found the 4 tokens.
On my first pass at the Swap Meet, a table or two away from where I found the tokens, I spied a particularly ugly metal donkey sculpture - made of sheet metal, some coppery or brass. Ears too short, mouth too wide-open, spiky tail. And I wondered . . . who would buy that piece of junk? On my way out, just before stopping at the tables where I found the tokens . . . a man came strolling by, very satisfied expression on his face, pulling a little cart full of trinkets. And under his arm . . . the Donkey!
Oh, well, what do I know about Folk Art after all? Donk is probably worth thousands!
