NCR Convention Bound Day 14

Yesterday was just one of those days. There was fog, wind and rain. Our one main objective was to be safe, so there was less sight seeing and more focused driving. However, have no fear we were able to find a few odd and unique things on the drive.

As you drive through the Midwest you never know what you are going to see. It can be several deer that have killed hunters. (This of course gets us back on track with the grave/cemetery thing.) A cow doing the Mardi Gras thing “Show us your teats”!! Atlas holding up the world. But my all time favorite is the vending machine for live bait!!!! When you stop for gas or a bathroom break on the road less traveled you find things like a restaurant in the gas station and a place to buy live bait next to the food prep. First time we saw a vending machine.

We did drive through Red Wing which is the home of …..You got it Red Wing Shoes. There are decorated boots all over the town to celebrate the Red Wing Factory.

We spent a few hours in the Mall of America. As a scratch shopper I can tell you this place is even too big for me. Of course, the amusement park in the middle of the mall, and the full aquarium on the first and lower floor is great for families. We got to the mall at 9:45 and were leaving about 12:15 and the place was packed. There was a stream of traffic coming into the lot. We did manage to have a little break at the Hooter's.

We had rain all the way, not a fun way to drive. Today we are on our way to visit friends in Fargo.
