I remember Bill Borland telling me his buddy Steve Wynn was trying to sell his property to
Caesars but they were giving him the run-around. He told them he was going to build a hotel on it
and had plans drawn up showing a very narrow and tall structure. It was basically a wall
blocking the view of Caesars to the south. They quickly bought the property. I was working
as a busboy at the Flamingo when there was a sign across the street that read "Future Home
Of Caesars Palace". Bill told me they originally were going to call it the Desert Wind.
