"Half-off" memberships were also offered and these seemed to be new members that actually had some interest in the hobby...and many times, those members renewed. Some people -- and it seems to be more prevalent with the younger generations -- just don't like to collect. I took my daughter for years to the conventions and to Casinorama shows. She knows a lot of my chip friends, but she has no desire to collect chips. Disney pins, yes...but not chips.
