I do understand what you are saying but without new membership the the club and the MOGH will disappear. I, for one, do not care that someone gets free membership and entry to the convention if it means the club is growing or staying even/steven, that is what matters.

Yes, we donated money to the Building Fund too, and I would like to see it used to maintain the Club membership.

Times are changing, I do not feel that new members collect the way we oldies do. A home and kids costs a lot more today then they did just 10 years ago and money is tight in the families. A big deal not to long ago was the collecting of Limited Editions, but they are not allowed any more - try selling a set of Limited Editions with a possibility of only 50 complete sets can be had. Heck just recently I offered $100 Limited Edition chips on this board and the only offer I got was way below face value, so I turn them in at face - the collectors lose out, but this old man needs the money.

I have other chips that only 5 are known and I can not get face for them. A couple of them have been offered on this board a while back with no offers given. People just collect differently then before. We did not get into this hobby to make money, but to collect chips and meet great people, but that has all changed.
