...and though I agree with everyone that those who have brought in new membership have done an excellent job, I can not envision the size of our club being anywhere near what it was years ago... and the reason has nothing to do with how our club is managed.
Back then there were way fewer gaming jurisdictions here in the US and around the world, yet we managed to pick up new members at a much higher rate than today and, as new jurisdictions came about, so did new members. Yet, today, where it seems as though there are casinos within an arm's reachh of eachother, membership is not increasing at even a fraction of what we would like to see and that, in my opinion; is because the Internet is now the new club (meeting place) for collector hobbyists.
Personally, my feeling is that we just need to accept this fact... and, of course, hold on to what we have that is keeping us above water; our convention and magazine, though it wouldn't hurt to join in with the rest of the world via social media.
I have mentioned this here, before, and John Z. was the onky person who had grassped on to what I was saying...
Our club website's message board is not being utilized as it should be. It should be..!
