I also scan with my Epson scanner right into Photoshop. Just open Photoshop and use the Import option in that program to start the scan. I think I had to install the scanner on Photoshop to make it do that and something in one of the books provided with the scanner or program told me how.

I have the Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner (which is no longer made) but I bought it refurbished direct from Epson several years ago. I use Photoshop Elements 10 which is cheaper than the full Photoshop but does everything I need for scanning chips.
