Hi Mark, I became a life member in London when I came to England in 1968.
They had a special offer for a one time amount of 10 guineas (1 guinea was 1 pound & 1 shilling, there were 20 shillings in a pound).
Being a student this was a great opportunity. Not only did you get unlimited visits to the best club in town and see the most beautiful bunnies, but also it was my first encounter with casinos and seeing some of the best dealers. (Little did I know that I would start in the casino industry as a dealer years later).
On top of all that they had a great buffet on the first floor where you serve yourself for 10 shillings (half a pound). Being a student there was almost nowhere in London where you could get such a great meal for that kind of money in such great environment.
As you can see I always kept the card as a memento of those special years in London.
