John
I recently purchased 3 Vegas Franklin mint token book sets from 1965 (2) and a 1967 Volume #1 Nevada "Two dollar, one dollar. and half dollar tokens", as well as a number of Franklin 1966 Series token sets in cardboard plastic sealed sleeves (I think it's the entire 16 piece set with some duplicates). The 1966 sets say "proof like specimen set" with SSN but the books don't say anything regarding "proof" of "proof like" although I haven't looked through them closely. To me they look like proofs bu maybe UC tokens? I know some of these could be silver or clad. How do you know the difference? I wasn't going to look them over too good and have the seller change his mind as he sold them to me for $300 for all the books, sets, and and a box full of other misc. Vegas slot tokens in a large binder as well as numerous pages with bar tokens going back to the 60's and 70's. If the tokens are silver then I really fell into something but either way I felt is was more then a fair deal.
Thanks for any advice on this stuff.
