Let’s say you buy three chips from the same vendor on eBay as individual lots. Each lot lists a $3.50 shipping charge and never claims to offer combined shipping. When you ask for a combined invoice you are told that combined shipping is not an option. Rather than receiving three envelopes, however, you receive all the chips in one envelope rather than three. In other words. You paid for individual shipping, but the vendor used combined shipping and pocketed the rest.
What are your thoughts on this practice?
As for me, I can’t say there’s anything “wrong” with it since the vendor never claimed to offer it and the buyer agreed to pay the extra money. I can’t help but feel like the practice is a little greasy, though.
