Shown here is a scan of 4 different chips. On the right are the original, 2012 $3, and the original 2007 $2 releases of these chips. Both are only used in the poker room as player chips and the $3 is also used as a Drop chip.
On the left are re-orders of these 2 chips from the January/February timeframe of 2018. All original and re-order versions have been mixed together, and to the naked eye, for the most part, the re-order chips look to be identical to the originals. Particularly the $3 chips, but the body color of the $2 chips have a very slight shade difference.
Below is a picture of the same chips (same sides) illuminated with an industrial grade, Ultra Violet light lamp (Longwave UV-366NM). Bear in mind that under the UV light source, nearly all colors are NOT accurate, but by using the UV light, one can see manufacturing differences, not seen by the naked eye, that are distinctive differences between original and re-order chips.
For example, the white inlays of the $3 chips are different in brightness between the original and re-order chips. This means that while to the naked eye both versions are the same, in reality, a different material was used for the inlays in the re-order chips. Also, note that the placement of the UV hat and cane logo on the $2 chips are slightly different. This placement difference is consistent between all 2007 chips and the 2018 re-order chips, as can be seen in the 3rd pic that shows four chips from both lots.
