You go north on Virginia Street, and then further north, and then . . . northerly and then north. Well past the Wolf Oil station where the sign states Regular gas costs an Arm, and Premium, a Leg. Eventually the road crests a small hill, and there you are. Lots of different chips in circulation, particularly Hot August Nights issues. It's a "locals casino" and the people are really nice. The craps dealer doesn't mind selling a stack or two of fives to a collector to look through - in contrast to some other casinos in downtown Reno. You probably know, but: Hot August Nights is a classic car celebration, and numerous casinos have issued chips for that; also Street Vibrations, which is a motorcycle show. Pretty much every weekend is some sort of festival in Reno as the locals, I call them "Renoirs," love a party!
The casinos charge an Arm and a Leg for parking there, too, but after 6 PM, street parking is free (check signs to make sure this is still the case). Bring a bathing suit if you dare: they have a river park downtown where you can go wading in the Truck-Truck River. Legend has it that it contains a fortune in divorcees' gold rings.
