Hey Fred,
I always thought the "El Cortez" chips shown below might have been used at the Trocadero in Reno.
Here are the reasons why I think this could be true.
1. The Trocadero Reno was located in the "El Cortez" Hotel.
2. The Zig-zag Mold was used on other Trocadero Reno chips.
3. The Trocadero was licensed for Roulette and I believe these chips could have well been Roulette chips.
4. This Style of "El Cortez" chips have been attributed by some collectors as being from Vegas - but there are NO other "El Cortez" chips from Vegas in the Zig-zag Mold - even though there are 100s of known chips from the "El Cortez" in Vegas. However half of the known chips from the Trocadero are Zig-zag Mold chips.
I may be crazy or off base on this but it makes me wonder if these chips possibly came from the Trocadero in Reno ?????
LMK what you think !!
Take care,
Jerry
