for sale three UNC $1 SANDS, Las Vegas tokens

These are all from the second era of private casino tokens that began in 1979. That's the point that the feds again allowed a casino to make their own money as long as they used it only on their own property. Here are three from about 50 years ago.
First two are from 1979 and have the same design. The second one is copper plated and according to Janice's research was made for a promotion. These two are O'Neal catalog 380 and 191. They have CM mintmarks (Columbia Mint).

The third token is was produced in 1989 (although not marked) and is mintmarked NCM. This design was numbered 397 in the O'Neal catalog. This apparently matches the "A place in the sun" slogan the Sands adopted (see the sun?).

Interesting that although I haven't included any tokens from the first era of production, the 1979 tokens have patterns of edge reeding, apparently the same unique patterns that Franklin Mint introduced for their casino tokens in 1965. The 1989 token has a plain edge (no reeding), apparently because FM had patented the use of unique reeding patterns.

All three are UNC condition and can be yours for $51 via Personal PayPal or your check if you're a Club member.
